This album started as an experiment and evolved into something bigger. The idea was to capture the story of a man who is bitter and feels the world has nothing left to offer. He builds himself a rocket ship and heads towards the stars, leaving everything behind in hopes that he can rid himself of the rotten world. He soon grows lonely and cold, floating endlessly through space. He realizes all of the good that Earth held for him, and that his bitterness was keeping him from seeing that he had more to be grateful for than to be resentful of.
